England's patron saint is celebrated with the revival of a tradition that has not been staged since 1585. St George, mounted on horseback and accompanied by the legendary figures of the King, his daughter and the lamb led by a maiden, will parade through the City of London accompanied by a procession including the Band of the Parachute Regiment, soldiers and armoured combat vehicles, in a fundraising event organised by City Livery company Armourers and Brasiers. The pageant starts at Armourers Hall and proceeds via Gresham Street, St Martin's le Grand, Paternoster Square and Temple Bar to St Paul's Cathedral, returning to Coleman Street via Cannon Street and King Street.
