The Shakespeare Olympics begin April 22 at the Globe
From June 1 an online exhibition will show how the Ottomans shaped London and the rest of Europe through music, medicine and art. Created through a unique collaboration with involvement from the British Council, it features artwork from the largest private Islamic art collection in the world. A selection of works from the exhibition will be on display at Bethnal Green Library for three days this week and a private launch on Thursday May 13 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm will bring together the Khalili art collection, music from the Royal Academy of Music, award winning film-maker Suki Chan, who recently appeared in the BBC's 'School of Saatchi', and Turkish Sufi pop star Mercan Dede, as well as leading historians on Ottoman history.
