Time Out says Rate it

From June 1 an online exhibition will show how the Ottomans shaped London and the rest of Europe through music, medicine and art. Created through a unique collaboration with involvement from the British Council, it features artwork from the largest private Islamic art collection in the world. A selection of works from the exhibition will be on display at Bethnal Green Library for three days this week and a private launch on Thursday May 13 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm will bring together the Khalili art collection, music from the Royal Academy of Music, award winning film-maker Suki Chan, who recently appeared in the BBC's 'School of Saatchi', and Turkish Sufi pop star Mercan Dede, as well as leading historians on Ottoman history. The first 10 Time Out readers to email raheel.mohammed@youngfoundation.org will receive tickets via email to attend the preview. Remember to quote Time Out when you apply.

Great exhibition in east London that highlights Evliya Celebi- a 16th century Ottoman who travelled around Europe and the Ottoman Empire.
