It's cocktails ahoy as a vintage converted rail carriage decorated with eccentric objects pulls into Clerkenwell. From Tuesday to Friday visitors can climb aboard for a free gin and tonic and to contribute a libation-inspired story (a 'cocktale', of course), listen to the history of the drink in 'The Quintessential Anthology of Gin' talk and tasting, and the main event in the evening is a mind-bending dinner created by creative culinary team Bompas & Parr. The last day sees the Bartender Croquet competition take place - spectators are welcome and the dress code is 'eccentric professional'.
The event is part of London Cocktail Week and you need to book tickets for the meal and gin tasting (booking is advised as numbers are limited: visit www.londoncocktailweek.com to buy tickets).
The event / ticket details are as follows (Tues - Fri):
Midday - 2.30pm: Anyone can come down and have a gin and tonic and explore the carriage.
3pm - 4.15pm: The carriage hosts a gin masterclass for eight people. Buy tickets (£8) via www.LondonCocktailWeek.com
4.30pm - 6pm: Open doors again - anyone can come down.
7.30pm: A private dinner for nine guests at a time with food by Bompas & Parr. Buy tickets (£100 each) via www.LondonCocktailWeek.com
