Tower Hamlets' fireworks extravaganza, by pyrotechnics specialists Walk the Plank, is titled 'Remember, Remember' and commemorates the seventieth anniversary of the Blitz with a display accompanied by a soundtrack reminiscent of the era. Fireworks dispkays in Tower Hamlet were no way near as good as the previous yeears. Bring the fireworks back to Victoria Park. Easily accessible, great atmosphere and great location. Makes sense to have it there!!!
...and some might argue that blasting out bomb sirens wasn't all that sensitive too. Plus the music didn't work with the fireworks - couldn't hear all the ooh and ahhs!
Nowhere near as good as last year. Was way too crowded and the music wasnt well amplified so a lot of the crowd didnt get the full effect. Also, without the funfair the crowd all left very quickly (maybe that wwas the idea). The council could look into having a german/french/italian/caribbean market over the whole weekend with a funfair is well. The income from this would cover the cost of the fireworks and make it more of an " event" for the area rather than half an hour of great fireworks and not much else.
It was good apart from the 3min silence in the middle of a song in the show, the £140,000 bill paid by Tower Hamlets Council Tax payers and the crush with the people leaving towards Mile End at end.
It was the bast ever. I realy realy enjoyed it the kids were amazed
