I'm so sorry you found it not to be child friendly! I had the complete opposite experience! I took my children and we had a great time - my children got glowsticks at the door, free presents (colouring books and sweeties) from father crypt-mas and had a great time playing on the snowflake machine!!! I found it to be a unique and intriguing experience with amazing illuminating artwork and something for everyone! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a free alternative Christmas experience and some family fun! :)
WE VISITED THE CRYPT AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY UN CHILD FRIENDLY (STAFF RUDE TO OUR CHILDREN) EVEN THOU THEY BEHAVED PERFECTLY.
NOT FOR CHILDREN AT ALL.
Fantastic free event- our 4 year old loved it as much as we did, so it is totally suitable for younger kids as well - she spent quite a time with the interactive projected advent calendar- printed out her own snowflake, got a gift from the cyber Santa and was even handed her own free glowstick at the door! Beautifully done and a very friendly interactive experience.
Just been to see “alternative Christmas art experience” Crypt-mas and its brilliant. For a start its inside the dark crypt labyrinth of St. Pancras church with the exhibits are set inside a series of alcoves which creates a fantastic atmosphere. The walls are lit with bright colourful projections and illuminating artworks by Jane Webb. Jane is a mixed media, illuminarie artist and a specialist with mirrored light boxes and cybernetic humanoid sculptures using recycled computer and electronic components. Highlights are the Illumini's very own Father Cryptmas, a cyber Santa that could have walked off the set of Tron; the interactive wall sized advent calendar; the skull with wings Crypto-Fairy; and the “What’s the best present you ever had?” exhibit featuring old figurines like Buzz Lightyear and a severed Cyberman head. Genius. Despite the whole event being free it was nearly empty. It deserves more. Quite simply unique and the best xmas related thing I’ve seen in decades.
This is awesome kooky alternative festive fun.Spooky light art in an atmospheric Crypt.Kids will love it...!!!
