Regulars of the Clapham Picturehouse, or the several bistros in the same street, will have noticed the redevelopment of Venn Street over the summer of 2011. Venn Street has now been pedestrianised, partly in response to the huge success of the monthly food market held there. Now, with the cobbles back in place and huge new birch trees planted, Venn Street Market has gone weekly with new producers, including Jacobs Ladder Farm (organic and biodynamic meats, eggs and oats), Wild Country Organics (fresh organic fruit and veg) and festival favourite Yam the Cassava, a food stall peddling hot Creole cuisine. The alfresco tables spill across the street in good weather. Running until December 23 2012, the Sunday market includes food, crafts and plants.
Follow Venn St to receive updates on new events happening here.
