Friendly, sociable bike ride on the last Friday of the month. Each ride lasts around two hours (weather permitting) and finishes at a central London pub or park. Routes vary (the directions are chosen spontaneously along the route) and riders are free to join or leave the group at any point. The ride organisers aim to raise awareness of the benefits of cycling in cities, campaign for better provision for cyclists and demonstrate against car-filled, fume-soaked streets.

I was rather apprehensive about doing this, but it was absolutely an amazing experience and I loved every minute. Basically a luxuriously slow ride with hundreds of cool and enthusiastic people around all the central London sites. They block the roads while you sail through the South bank, West End, Parliament Square, along the river - well where-ever they decide to go on the night! You meet lots of friendly Londoners, particularly if you dress up...
