The August bank holiday is given over to a crowd partying along to
Europe's biggest celebration of music, movement and masquerade,
featuring the spectacle of the floats, the music of steel bands, reggae
and the many soundsystems along the three-mile route, while Sunday is
Children's Day, with an emphasis on families and younger festival goers.
And Time Out is the official guide to all things Carnival, so head to our dedicated Carnival page where you can get full listings and details of all the afterparties, download a Carnival map and listen to an exclusive Norman Jay podcast.
