It’s time to break out the straw hats and bring along the children, as the countryside takes over ‘the new bit’ of Spitalfields this weekend. The food part of the East festival welcomes Spitalfields City Farm into Bishop's Square which will be transformed into a ‘country idyll’ armed with food stalls and good ol’ fashioned family fun.

Dessert stalls ChocStar, Violet and Nutmeg Frog will  cover the sweet end of things, with chocolate treats, cupcakes and puds galore. You’ll find both award-winning  beers from around the world sold at Quaffs Beer. Cheese and charcuterie lovers should make a beeline for Villanova, importer of Sardinian produce, which will be offering its much sought after 100 per cent buffalo milk mozzarella, and hand-carved limited production Prosciutto di Desulo. Butchery and cooking demonstrations will also be presented throughout the day (for free).

Family entertainment will include country crafts, The Big Draw activities, acrobatics and live music.
