Hello Stella,
I'm sorry I didn't manage to take you to the City roof top garden on that occasion. I nearly always manage to take people up (about 90% of the walks) but occasionally there are private functions preventing it. On rare occasions when we can't go up as a group, I explain how to visit the garden, and I'm always prepared to take people individually after the walk if they have the time. Although exciting, the rooftop garden isn't necessarily the highlight of the walk though, as there are so many other more 'secret' little places in the city that I take people to.

I went on the walk yesterday and was disappointed to find that the tour did not actually take us into any of the rooftop gardens although the website does suggest we would see one. We were told we could visit one in our own time.Our guide was excellent and provided plenty of interesting information.

I've noted your comments and fully understand the desire to experience the 'Hiiden Gardens' walk at weekends. Unfortunately, this walk concentrates on the financial city of London, and relies on certain city institutions and their doorways being open. It just wouldn't work at weekends or evenings. The good news is that this walk is likely to run throughout the year on Wednesdays now, so I hope people can find time to attend one Wednesday, with a couple of hours away from the office, or a half-day perhaps?

I would love to go on this walk but weekdays are a nightmare! Is there any on a weekend?
I agree with everyone else's comments here. This sounds fantastic, but it would be great on a Saturday or Sunday, making it more accessible to everyone.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, just notice what we all have to say. I love, and live in east London, and have never heard of this garden, it sounds amazing. Allow us to discover more about the city we live in. Wed is only convenient for people on their holidays,visiting London. If this walk on a weekend, or maybe repeated in june, or july, then it could help us to "escape" for a minute ourselves.
Its a big wide world out there, but you could help us to see, that sometimes the world is at our feet/ on our doorstep!
