A London Festival of Architecture event, this exhibition sees audiovisual installations exploring the city's relationship with the Thames placed at six piers: Millbank, Embankment, Bankside, Tower, Canary Wharf and QE2. The exhibits blend a live recording of the sound of Thames waters, with Peter Ackroyd's readings from his book 'Thames: Sacred River', as well as archive and contemporary interviews with those who live and work along the river. You can also pick up a free, special edition Ordnance Survey map which shows how the course of the Thames has changed from neolithic times up to the present. The exhibition route can be covered by foot, bike or boat. If you'd like to travel between the piers by Thames Clippers commuter boats you can download a 30 per cent discount voucher for tickets at www.darkwaters.org.uk (from £8 for a day ticket, with discount £5.30; note that Oyster card holders, pre-pay excluded, also receive discounts on the service). You can download individual interviews and view photographs on the website.
