Until Aug 31 2010, Charles Dickens Museum
The museum – where Charles Dickens, author of ‘A Christmas Carol’, lived from 1837 to 39 – must be the London attraction most closely associated with the festive season, so it’s fitting that it’s one of the very few to open on Christmas Day. From Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, visitors can listen to readings of the author’s seasonal stories in the atmospheric library, watch classic film adaptations of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and get merry on mulled wine and mince pies served by staff in period costume.
