Fancy owning a Sarah Lucas or a Wolfgang Tillmans? Well now you can pick one up on the way to work. Art on the Underground is setting up shop in Piccadilly Circus Underground station to sell limited edition signed prints from international artists. Each of the 15 artists was commissioned to participate in ‘15 for 150’ to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the underground. The pop-up shop is a collaboration with Own Art, an initiative that offers budding collectors interest-free loans to purchase contemporary artworks. Prints cost between £60 for Gillian Wearing’s ‘Total Stranger’ to £550 for Lawrence Wiener’s work, which is printed on Vitreous Enamel, the same material as tube signs.
