Although you shouldn't really need prompting to visit the Turners at Tate Britain, the hanging of Mark Rothko's 1958 Seagram series in the Clore Gallery might provide backsliders with the incentive they lack. It does not need stating that the Turners here include a great many extraordinary pictures, but the conversation that has been set up between them and the Rothkos serves to remind us, if any reminder were necessary, just how extraordinary they are.
