It's back to black, with Rothschild's monumental commission for the Duveen Galleries, in which a procession of 26 metal triangles of various dimensions, attached apex-to-apex, zigzag their way along the Neoclassical interior. Except, it's not just 26 triangles: look closely at where the structure bridges the colonnades and you notice smaller triangles, supporting props ñ it may seem a rather flippant complaint; but actually they slightly spoil the effect of the work, undermining its air of sinister grace, and revealing the mechanics behind its spidery acrobatics.
