Time Out says Rate it

Here you'll find Picasso lounging in the south of France, plastering a bikini on to a curvy earthenware jug or painting his wives, kids and mistresses eating, swimming and at play. Again, this is a simplistic summation of a more complex show - the erotic drawing on the back of a door, for example, is an important sketch for a commission in Antibes - one that's also scholarly, having been curated from a cache of the family's collection by Picasso's official biographer, John Richardson. It's an astonishing display that puts the museum to shame, but is also only as accurate as a holiday snapshot. (OW)
