Yoko Ono, Smile Film No. 5, 1968 - © Yoko Ono
With works such as 'Cut Piece', in which she invites people to cut pieces off of her clothing, Yoko Ono is as famous for her ongoing 50-year career as a multi-media conceptual and performance artist as she is for her marriage to a certain ex-Beatle. Her influence across the arts is celebrated in this exhibition of new and existing installations, films and performances from the 1960s to the present day. One of opening events of the London 2012 Festival the show will feature Ono's ongoing project 'SMILE' - an invitation for people across the world to photograph and upload images of their smile to create a global anthology of happy portraits. Visitors will also be able to have their images taken for the project in a special photo-booth onsite.
