The Shakespeare Olympics begin April 22 at the Globe
This collaborative, cross-artform Titian-fest, in conjunction with the Royal Opera House, takes as a its starting point three Titian paintings - 'Diana and Actaeon', 'The Death of Actaeon' and 'Diana and Callisto' - which were all inspired by Ovid's epic narrative Latin poem of transformation and myths 'Metamorphosis', which features the story of Acteon. The resulting commissions include three new ballets by choreographers Wayne McGregor, William Tuckett and Christopher Wheeldon with original music by British composers and sets designed by artists Chris Ofili, Conrad Shawcross and Mark Wallinger, the preparatory studies for which will be on display in the National Gallery. A Special performance of the ballets on 16 July will be broadcast live to the public on a screen in Trafalgar Square.
