The Shakespeare Olympics begin April 22 at the Globe
Over the past three years the National Portrait Gallery has been working with photographers Brian Griffin, Bettina von Zwehl, Emma Hardy and Finlay MacKay to commission portraits of those who have been working to make the 2012 Games happen, from the athletes to all those behind the scenes. 'Road to 2012' also includes three particpation projects which highlight local stories of inspiration and talent in the five Olympic host boroughs. This exhibition marks the culmination of all the events, which have been documented throughout the three years on the National Portrait Gallery's website.
