The ICA presents the first UK display of original issues of the significant Vienna-based architectural magazine. Published between 1965 and 1970 and edited by a group influential architects and artists including Hans Hollein, Walter Pichler, Günther Feuerstein, Oswald Oberhuber, Sokratis Dimitriou and Gustav Peichl, the magazine was a platform for the radical attitudes in Austria. Exploring new experimental approaches towards architecture that encompassed art and politics, Bau differentiated itself from other publications. Packaged more like a glossy fashion magazine its contents combined rich imagery with key texts by philosophers, artists and architects.
