Nine artists delve into what and who makes a city. This touring exhibition takes works from two private collections, arriving in London after it’s San Francisco incarnation as ‘City of Disappearances’ at CCA Wattis.
Split into three sections that feature a new installation of Martin Boyce’s neon works; solo presentations of Amie Siegel’s film that juxtaposes a 1940 Berlin with its modern day counterpart and Enrique Metinides’s reportage photographs of Mexico City’s transformation over five decades and finishing with a collation of artists including Michel Auder, Martin Boyce, Slater Bradley, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, John Menick, Yelena Popova and Kelley Walker who all work in different media, the physical and emotional encounters with an urban environment are brought together.
