Je Baak: Ritual - Media - Karma

The South Korean artist records the repetitive act of making a calligraphic line in his photographic series 'The Karmic Diary', which echoes the Eastern philosophies of reaching enlightenment through repetition. The RCA graduate intends to photograph the line periodically throughout his life creating a karmic trace of himself. Other works include a piece of coloured paper the artist played with as a child, which is again repeatedly photographed to blur the original purpose and heighten the symbolic reading.
