The London Sale

An exhibition, ahead of an auction on September 3, of images and objects associated with London. Exhibits include paintings, topographical views, memorabilia and fashion, with highlights such as David Shepherd's painting of Heathrow (estimate £3,000-£5,000), a John Atkinson Grimshaw painting of the London skyline at night (estimate £150,000-£200,000), a selection of outfits worn by Margaret Thatcher, vintage transport posters, a plaster maquette of Guy the gorilla (estimate £1,800-£2,500) and an original Routemaster bus (estimate £20,000-£30,000; on show by appointment only). The auction takes place at 1pm on September 3.
