This show brings together contemporary automata and performing machines which, between 1985 and 2000, resided in a hugely popular exhibition space in Covent Garden. The show offers the chance to press the buttons and bring to life machines including Paul Spooner's man in a bath of Spaghetti and Matt Smith's ingenious 'Fish', in which a pair of bright orange painted fish swim realistically with the use of ratchet and gears. A one-day introduction to automata-making is also on offer (Mar 23 10am-5pm; £95 per person), as is a mechanical art workshop for families (Apr 3 10am-noon or 2-4pm; £10 per family kit; age 5+).
