Fulham Palace Garden Centre
Fulham

At this large garden centre on leafy Bishops Avenue, the staff are helpful and the selection of plants is strong. The fine bedding plants and shrubs make it stand out from local competition, as does the fact that it's part of The Prince’s Trust and all purchase proceeds go to support youth projects. Best-sellers include olive trees, lavender plants and evergreen climbers such as honeysuckle and star-jasmine – though you'll also find gifts, indoor plants and feeders to attract the right sort of wildlife.

Sorry to have to tell everyone – Fulham Palace Garden Centre closed down in November 2014 or thereabouts. I just walked by today (I was after some seeds, which they'd been good on) and discoverers this.
