Accepts Time Out Card

The capital's first helicopter sightseeing tour that doesn't involve schlepping out of London – because you can choose to board, much more conveniently, at Battersea Heliport. The 20-minute trip mostly follows the route of the Thames, between the Isle of Dogs in the east and Barnes in the west, taking in landmarks including Buckingham Palace and The Shard along the way. It doesn't come cheap but it has to be the most exciting way to get to grips with the layout of the city.

Time Out needed no encouragement to take to the air. Read our blog post here.

THE best way to see London - when we signed up, I was worried 20 minutes wouldn't be long enough, but it was perfect - you see all the main sites, from Battersea to Greenwich, and despite the quick turn around of trips, the pilot was incredibly upbeat.  His commentary of the city was brilliant, and the flight allows you to see everything, no matter which side of the helicopter you're on.  One of the best things I've done in London.
