A whistlestop tour of the British Museum
No visit to the British Museum would be complete without a mummy, so wrap up your tour with the striking Mummy of Kateb (Room 62). Dating from 1300-1280BC, the corpse hails from Thebes in Egypt and is that of a woman named Katebet, who sang rituals that were performed in the temples. On her stomach is a scarab beetle to offer her magical protection when she was judged by the gods.
