River Bus services operate daily between Royal Arsenal Woolwich in the east and St George Wharf Vauxhall in the west. In April 2013, a new Putney–Blackfriars route was added. A daily commuter service operates every 20 minutes, calling at all major central London piers.

On event nights at the O2, the River Bus Express operates a fast direct shuttle service from the London Eye pier, London Bridge and Canary Wharf, with optional champagne upgrades.

The Tate service runs every 40 minutes during gallery hours between Tate Britain (Millbank Pier) and Tate Modern and the Globe (Bankside Pier) via the London Eye (Waterloo Pier). Tate members get 25% off travel on this route.

River Roamer tickets are also available, offering unlimited hop-on, hop-off travel between major attractions including the London Eye, the Aquarium, the Globe, HMS Belfast and the Tower of London.

I’m aware a lot of people use just as an alternative mode of transportation, but I’d specially recommend for a tourist (or a touristic day). The trip from London Bridge to Greenwich took around 30 minutes, in which you can see some of London famous sights; and you can add drinks to the occasion, making it a truly London experience ;-)

Nice, fun, reasonably cheap way to view the city in a rather unusual way: but do it in a beautiful day – sunset for an extra dramatic colour!

I was super impressed with this service. We passed by one of the pick up points and decided to jump on on a whim. there are regular boats and the price is really reasonable (we paid about £6 each from central to Greenwich) and you can use your oyster so its so easy to board.

The journey we took was about 30 minutes and felt like a super lux way to see London without being amongst the crowds, so relaxing so I'd really recommend for any out of town visitors (although lots of the passengers seemed to be commuting too and a bit confused why we were loving it so much!).

If you time this right with sunset as we did on a nice spring/summer evening its absolutely beautiful. Highly recomend.

My dad came to visit me just a few days ago, and I wanted to give him a river tour of some type - well, if you're in the same boat (sorry), look no further! The Thames Clippers are comfortable and efficient, with lots of places to board and alight along the Thames. There are even a few different lines, as with the Underground. We boarded at the London Eye and took it all the way to the O2, passing Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf along the way. It was lovely and definitely worth the 5-6 quid it cost on our Oyster cards. I highly recommend it!

The staff on board the clipper were friendly and helpful and the journey made even better with a free glass of wine in hand!

Once we got the 02, we were led around and inside the building to find Brooklyn bowl at the end of 'Entertainment Avenue'.

The interior is a bit mish mashed with industrial pipe work alongside giant disco balls but it still works in this huge space.

The free frozen margarita was delicious and the portion was very generous too. I event forked out another £8.50 for another one as they were so tasty!

The issues started to arise when ordering food when there was confusion regarding the menu. Two different menus were on the table with one including a free drink and the other (the Timeout one) not. A few groups managed to order from the former but when my friend questioned this, we were met with a very rude response and the menu snatched out of our hands.

The food system is flawed as you have to order your food and wait for it at the bar, which can be anything up to 15 minutes. When my burger and fries finally arrived, I was left disappointed by what was probably the worst burger I have ever had. It was dry and full of gristle and I would have complained but at this point I had lost the will for another conversation with the unprofessional bar staff.

Thankfully, the Old Dirty Brasstards were there to keep spirits high with their music; playing songs spanning many decades and also throwing in a few unexpected numbers such as 'Doo Wop' by Lauryn Hill and 'Don't Let Go' by En Vougue. This is the second time that I've seen them and they always manage to get people on their feet!

Thames Clippers are a better way to see the sights of London as you travel down the Thames. They have modern comfy seats, alcohol served onboard so can grab a glass of something before getting to the O2, great views from either side of the boat and even though I travelled during the winter it was nice and cosy onboard. The only down side is that the cruise was too fast and I would have liked it to go a little slower to take in the view for a little longer.

A great way to see London! Cruising down the Thames was lovely and of course there is an amazing view. It is warm and comfortable inside and there is a little seating area outside where you can take some pictures of the sights! It took 30 minutes to travel from Westminster to Greenwich, I would definitely use MBNA Thames Clippers again and would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing way to take in the sights of London.

Great night! Started off with a fast pace cruise on the clipper and then off we went to have a night full music and laughter. Time out once again put on a great night! Roy was a great host!

Great way to get around London, so much more relaxing than cramming on to the tube and you have an amazing view while you travel in comfort.

Last night I attended the Time Out Card event hosted by Thames Clippers and The Brooklyn Bowl. From start to finish the accent was on fun ! Thames Clippers proved to be the most amazing way to see London by night as well as travel from Westminster to Greenwich in just 30 minutes. Once at The O2 we headed into The Brooklyn Bowl where a band names The Old Dirty Brassteads and the place jumping. What a good night - I took the last clipper back to London, and loved the stops at intermediate piers. A great way to travel.
