It was The Ashes Friday and when I made my first visit to The Dog House - the sun was shining and the pub has a good amount of outside seating, food was being served and the cricket was being shown on a big screen, it couldn't have got much better! I have to praise the kitchen, I was completely surprised by the quality of the food.  My friend and I did bounce around the usual pub grub options but what we had was a real delight – we shared two small plates being a super food salad and a smoked mackerel dish, with a main of poached eggs, spinach, potato rosti, mushrooms and spring onions, it really was dreamy!!  We chose from a menu that’s very different to that shown on their website, so perhaps changes are afoot in the kitchen.  It was a really good quality feed.

I was a big fan of the pub generally, friendly, accommodating staff, big screen, outside space, good food, and an upstairs function room… it’s ticking boxes and I look forward to a revisit.

Hello! As the new Manager at The Doghouse - we really appreciate the feedback! Please do come in and try us out! We have a new food menu and a new wine menu and super friendly staff. We cannot wait to meet you all! Lauren x

Enjoyed a great roast at The Dog House this Sunday. Good value at a tenner – large portions with good quality meat, plenty of veg, huge Yorkshire pudding and lots of gravy! Decent selection of real ales too. The décor’s a bit tired and could do with a spruce up, but it seems to be under new management so hopefully the place will get a makeover soon. Will definitely be back soon to try some of the other food on the menu.

Went here last weekend and had a great time. Nice little band playing (not the next Beatles or anything but good for a pub, and free). Food was great, you've got to try the burgers! Best of all was the staff, friendly and attentive all evening. Go check it out if you're in Kennington

Food is horrific. Greasy, fried, then re-fried token effort. Took ages for the most simple food - I may as well have gone to the fast food joint opposite. Service is certainly not with a smile. Better off going across the road to the Tommyfield everytime! STAY AWAY
