What was once a hip and minimalist venue is now quite happy to be trashy and party-minded.
Sat in a main room crowded with chattering, flirty youngsters, the circular main bar is lined with draught options, including Camden Hells Lager, Camden Wheat Beer, Sleeman India Pale Ale, Erdinger, Red Stripe and Bombardier. The wine list, a half-dozen of each colour, runs from £4.10 for a glass of house.
The aim of the game is to follow the peacock, a gaudy neon display of the bird lighting up in concentric circles over the door leading to karaoke and DJ parties downstairs. A few solitary light bulbs hark back to the Showroom’s previous guise.
