Here, the travel joke wears thin but everyone seems to be enjoying it so much that it hardly matters.
Served by an amiable antipodean, cocktails are themed from a travel agent’s atlas, so you can visit New Zealand with a Feijoa Fizz (42 Below vodka, kiwi and feijoa), Thailand with a Lady Boy (lemongrass-infused vodka, star aniseed and blackcurrant) and, ha ha, Scotland with a Big Yin (Hendrick’s gin, cucumber and raspberry); they work out cheaper if you get an ‘Around the World’ ticket (£25 for six cocktails).
Beers are similarly global: Oranjeboom and Asahi on draught; Tasmanian James Bay, Catalan Estrella and Little Creatures from Perth by the bottle.
Food is either ‘flip’ (international street snacks, yakitori, coxinhas and so on) or ‘flop’ (beach eats such as souvlaki, Jalisco prawns and burgers). It all takes place on two levels done up in light wood and contemporary decor.
