Loft

I went to the Loft on a Friday night. I had reserved a table for 12 people and we all had a brilliant time. It was really comfy, great cocktails and fab food. Even the music was good. Absolutely no complaints!!

Having just moved to the area, I have been checking out local bars, and I popped into the Loft on a Tuesday night with some friends. It wasn't that busy, but the drinks were delicious, and exceptional value as they were serving 241 cocktails all night. I haven't been back at the weekend yet (I understand it can get rather busy then) but for midweek drinks, its great!

I booked the common room at the loft for our engagement party, and the staff at the loft were ever so helpful. They had lots of bottles of champagne and wine all arranged beatufully on a table for us when we arrived. We ordered quite a bit of food and they were very accomodating bring it out in lots of little batches as our firends arrived. The quality of the cocktails was exceptional. All together a top evening.

I reserved a space at the loft for my Fiancee's 30th, and was impressed from start to finish by the customer service at the Loft. We exchanged quite a number of emails discussing all our requirements for the night, and nothing was too much trouble. The drinks are really tasty, and the food is surprisingly good too. Would definitely recommend.

Made this booking for my birthday double bash, when I got there, the sign placed near my reservation table had been removed so that other customers could kindly sit there looking like they were part of our table of drinks (1 even picked up my line of cocktails)...door staff were heavy handed and only budged out my 4"11 petite face when I told them I had guestlist (really boys theres no need - my little body couldnt hurt a fly). Not quite sure what Loft policies state about bar staff drinking on the job but my god were they smashed...the ones that werent must have been on "charlie" to be able to hold themselves up the way they were knocking back the beers & shots!!!! And if that wasnt enough in trying to grab the attention of the bartender to reduce the ice in my cocktail over the 6 ft counter I had to hold the glass to show him. He responded with refusing to serve me my drink leaving me only the shots he had served us. Refusing to kick up a fuss as I dont consider myself the confrontational type I left...Never to go back there again...Hopefully will find where I need to report these people to for lack of customer service as well as breach of alcohol licencing law...good job we have a lawyer in the family for stuff like that - My Advice - Refrain from this place!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!! am currently nursing a huge bruise on my arm caused by being shoved to the floor by an overly aggressive bouncer on Saturday night. We were there celebrating a friends birthday when the said bouncer decided to take his anger out on several of our friends as we were leaving in an extremely violent and uncalled for manor. One of my friends was held at the top of the stairs and several of my female friends were either pushed to the floor like myself or shoved in the face like *Natasha* has commented on below. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation almost all of the bar staff and the manager came flying over and all seemed intent on causing more trouble and creating havoc. It left the majority of us very upset and in shock, particularly due to the excessive violence. I would urge people to avoid this place like the plague as seems to be the kind of place where the staff and bouncers encourage violent behaviour.

A violent bouncer grabbed and pushed several of my female friends so that they fell to the floor. He then held one of my friends at the edge of the top of the staircase and very nearly sent him falling down the stairs, all because he reacted angrily to his girlfriend being thrown back against a wall by the same bouncer. Whilst this was happening a member of staff decided to jump in the middle of it and start pushing and shouting at people. I had to hold this man's arms to stop him from making the situation even more violent. This was a senor member of staff, not a bouncer. Don't go there.

I agree with the comment below..the manager is completely incompetent and his ability to deal with serious incidents is appalling. I was there last Saturday celebrating my birthday and was spoken to very aggressively by the bouncer on my way out. When I asked what right he had to speak to me like that, he told me to shut my face. He continued to be aggressive, so I said that I would contact the manager. He then used the full force of his hand to push me in the face. As my friend came over to defend me he grabbed his head and threw him back, which had a domino effect and meant another friend crashed into a parked van and hit her head on the pavement. However nice the cocktails, nobody should have to put up with such violent behavior.

I rated this place with 0 stars but this website keeps defaulting it to 4 stars as this pub pays. DON'T GO HERE.
