Market Porter

A great pub for good beer true. On a recent visit though we were most definitely threatened by a want to be gangsta working for this pub, asked to finish our drinks we had bought legally at 22:55 we wre asked to to get out at 23:05. We pointed out we had just purchased our drinks and should have until 23:20 to drink up, the 'bouncer' smirked and asked if we had had a good evening , we replied yes and he told us he could turn it into a very bad evening for us. When complaining to the bar staff we received no sympathy or apologies just told to get out. Shame, pub was once a pleasure to visit but I don't work hard to give my money to people who treat you like this.- I will find a pub who appreciates my custom and that can be courteous. A victim of it's own success means no effort required by staff.

This is not the pub for you if you wear football colours, want to drink pernod or wear a hoodie. We were patronised in the afternoon, met with hostility in the afternoon and met with average service from ignorant staff throughout. The pub has a great location and doesn't have to try too hard. So they don't.
