It’s a long walk from Hammersmith Bridge along a lazy bend in the Thames, a world away from belching buses and snarled-up traffic, but if you bypass a few pubs in favour of this one, you’ll be pleased you’ve made the trek.

The boathouse feel of the airy building is continued in the maritime-themed decor of sailing paintings and iconography. Depending on which areas have been hired out, you should have a choice of outdoor seating upstairs or down, or a spot in the classy main bar/restaurant.

Bitburger or Corona by the bottle seem the best choices for lager drinkers, Young’s or Wells Bombardier for ale aficionados, although there’s also a long list of wines. Food features Mediterranean fish stew and tuna fish cakes alongside pork loin steak, chicken leek pie and lamb kofta couscous.

As a local, I've been on and off with this pub over the last few years, it's definitely not been the best pub around here, but it's on the way back up. It's recently changed chefs and management and over the last few visits, it's been welcoming with mostly friendly staff. Gonna keep trying and see what happens!

used to be a great pub but has now fallen to the worst I have ever been in, 20 min ques for a drink, you have to be joking was not even busy, place is a joke now!
