The bar was a lovely fine, a chilled, lounging tonic and a breath of fresh air from the overcrowded loudness other bars near by.... ....therefore it's SUCH a shame that the evening had to be ruined by the rudeness of the bar staff (notably a waitress with short fair hair) She was appaling to us, insulted us (we garnered a "disrespectful" for putting some table rubbish into a glass, then she lied about what she had charged us earlier) There are certain ways to say things to customers and she was exceptionally rude. It really ruined our night and our friends birthday and it's just a shame that such nice place left us all with a bitter taste in our mouths. Will definitely not be going back or recommending anyone does.

The days when Dick Bradsell held court at this cocktail bar seem an awfully long time ago (which they were; he was gone by 2001), and the days when the Player was a glamorous, exclusive Soho hot spot are likewise long departed.
Still, the Player isn’t quite dead yet. it is currently hosting Lucky Chip, aka the Slider Bar.
