  • The bar was a lovely fine, a chilled, lounging tonic and a breath of fresh air from the overcrowded loudness other bars near by.... ....therefore it's SUCH a shame that the evening had to be ruined by the rudeness of the bar staff (notably a waitress with short fair hair) She was appaling to us, insulted us (we garnered a "disrespectful" for putting some table rubbish into a glass, then she lied about what she had charged us earlier) There are certain ways to say things to customers and she was exceptionally rude. It really ruined our night and our friends birthday and it's just a shame that such nice place left us all with a bitter taste in our mouths. Will definitely not be going back or recommending anyone does.

  • I went to the quiz last night with some friends to celebrate a birthday. Although the quiz was highly disorganised (shocking since it has been running for 2 years), the general mood was great and everyone was having a good time. However, the service was poor and we waited for over an hour for our drinks. The website advertises the quiz as..... "The Popbitch Popquiz is a mix of music trivia, salacious gossip and pop lore... and there's popcorn, scampi and plasticine too. Brilliant." This gives the impression, or at least it did to me, that when you pay £5 entry, you receive popcorn and scampi. However, the popcorn consisted of a tiny helping that disappeared within seconds (and wasn't refilled despite being told it would be) and the scampi came out in a box (approx 4 tiny pieces with about 10 chips). I was shocked and angered when, on readying myself to leave, I was told to pay £9 for it! The chap hosting the quiz is supposed to be a comedian...well, it’s a sad day for British comedy when every gag has to contain either a swear word or a sexual innuendo! I won’t be returning, however, if you're into quizzes, the questions were great and the quiz itself was good.
