This Covent Garden bar comes from the Porterhouse Brewing Co. - an Irish brewery with six bars back home and one over the pond, in New York. This one’s certainly no small sibling, it’s set over twelve floors and there’s a busy terrace, too.
It serves as a showpiece of the brewery’s brews - mostly ales and stouts on draught. There’s a solid selection, including Dublin Pale Ale, Porterhouse Red, Hersbrucker Pilsner and Wrasslers 4X Stout - a drop made to a century-old recipe. The bottled list is a tippler’s travelogue: Corsican Columba, Cypriot Keo, Moroccan Casablanca.
There’s food, too. Expect mezze sharing platters, burgers, pizza, pub grub staples, pasta dishes and Sunday roasts - basically a pretty broad church. And if you want to practice your jig? There’s live music from Wednesday to Saturday.
