This pub’s appeal isn’t quite all about location, location, location. But by the same token, the views from here, a fair hike up Richmond Hill, are beautiful – take your drink outside to one of the benches and you’ll be looking out towards rural Petersham and across the Thames, with only the occasional passing plane to disturb you.
Inside, it’s a straightforward local, untouched by current trends in pub culture: so-so beers, line-the-stomach food, uncomplicated decor, efficient staff. So far, so so – but it’s the views from outside that make it worth the hike.
