This ever-popular, long-established, four-room spot in the Truman Brewery bar complex is an all-day hangout which then eases into its role as a DJ and live music bar, with an admission charge at weekends.
The large courtyard comes into its own in summer, although better beer options might encourage more people to stay later rather than dash to any number of other options near here. Still, a significant European contingent among the studenty crowd add verve and colour to proceedings, while the graffitied walls inject a bit of squat chic.
Food-wise, there’s oak-smoked barbecue baby back ribs, deep-fried breaded prawns and, at weekends outside, jerk chicken straight off the grill, all for under a tenner.
