Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Please note, The Bree Louise has now closed. Time Out Editors, February 2018.

Hopheads and scrumpy merchants make pilgrimages to this unassuming boozer tucked behind the utterly non-descript streets near Euston station.

Their obscure objects of desire sit in (mainly) barrel form behind the bar: Art Brew Tempest Stout, Dark Star Six Hop, Bateman’s XXXB feature among the ‘16 real ales’ promised outside, with New Forest Kingston Black, Ciderniks Dab Hand and Weston’s Country Perry among the ‘eight cask ciders’. There’s also the house brew of Bree Louise organic pilsner and a surprisingly attractive choice of food: burgers made from fresh ground beef, lamb or wild boar; Colston Bassett blue stilton among the cheeses; and, to start, a pâté of the day to go with the warm, rustic bread. There’s also Heinz baked beans.

All is served in improbably unfashionable surroundings, Jack Vettriano prints and such, but that bothers the equally unfashionable and big-bellied clientele not one jot.
