Le Metro Bar and Brasserie is a modern all-dayer restaurant. While the name sounds French, food here is decidedly British; quality produce is used to create an appealing array of small plates and larger classic homemade dishes. The interior offers a mix of comfortable banquette seating, or tables and stools at the marble-topped bar, underlining the venue’s suitability for everything from a quick coffee or glass of wine to a full sit-down meal. The menu offers some very British comfort food (pork scratchings, or haddock and chips anyone?) as well as some more refined options like beetroot cured smoked salmon with horseradish cream. There’s also a full afternoon tea, or champagne afternoon tea if you want to push the boat out, available from 3 to 6pm every day. Tucked away behind Harrods and Harvey Nichols, Le Metro is a firm favourite with those who delight in straying from the beaten track. A hidden gem that we suggest you find!
