  • Me and all my friends had an amazing time when we came here last week. Great DJ and the floor was surprisingly packed for a pub. Amazing cocktails for pretty good prices and a wide range of them at that. I've been to the legendary pub quiz before as well and it certainly didn't disappoint.

  • I have just spent an amazing Friday night here. We had an area booked in the upstairs bar followed by a session in the Karaoke room. I didn't know that The Queens had a karaoke room, but it's hilarious. You get free entry to the pub and there is plenty of fancy dress to get involved with. Top night out - and we are going to try the quiz here soon too. I have heard big things on the grape vine - so looking forward to checking it out.

  • Ordinary pub benefiting from decent location, Major problem - this place runs a scam advertising entry on Saturday until 4am and then closes at 2am - bar actually accepts drinks rounds 30 secs before DJ's summons (ours was £70 in total, hence my fury). Girl front of house basically lies bluntly. Bar manager protested innocence, bar staff hurled abuse. The door staff were oddly apologetic, which betrays the truth... In summary, go anywhere but here. A pity what with the location.

  • @oldqueenshead. Utterly unacceptable door policy. Useless managament. 6 of us (3 couples who came all the way from Spain too see DJ Vadim-) were denied entry when trying to defend 2 young foreign students who were not allowed in because they were not 'cool enough' and had no female companion. The pub might be worth it but they should hire professionals not primates. Could never recommend this place. Why bring such good Djs when you don't let people who appreciate it in and have a good night? A real shame and a very unpleasant experience.

  • A great bar in Islington, the Old Queens Head does not only have great DJ's on the weekend, but also some of the best cocktails this side of London. It was perfect timing as Noah and the Whale were playing that weekend and though we had initially planned to move to another venue after a while, they kept us on the dance floor all night. I would recommend coming in early on as it tends to get really busy and the best thing would probably be to reserve an area (which I will next time!). The best tip I got that evening however was to try their Flirtini which is now my new favourite tipple. Fabulous.

  • I've been to the pub quiz in my favourite north London pub The Old Queens Head before and recommend it to anyone who wants to wants to have some mid week fun. Intellectual but not taxing, weekly rollovers and good times.
