A gory sounding place, but it’s actually just the rebranded and remodelled bar attached to gig and club venue XOYO. It falls into what you might call ‘shanty town chic’, with corrugated metal and jerry-built walls.
The menu offers ‘hot dogs and sliders’, a brief but accurate description of the offer in its entirety. There are indeed weiners in rolls and mini burgers in buns, but if you want any of the usual side orders – coleslaw, onion rings, fries even – you’re out of luck.
Drinks are a bit more imaginative than your usual pre-club venue, with bottles of Little Creatures Pale Ale and brews from the Redchurch Brewery; there’s also a couple of wines by the glass.
Apart from a few quickly filled booths, seats and tables are apparently arranged at heights to ensure anyone with a spine suffers discomfort. This is a place for a few drinks before a gig, but it’s not a dining destination – just slide right by.
