This elegant bar is located at The Balcon, a French brasserie at the Sofitel Hotel on Pall Mall. The aesthetic was apparently inspired by the Paris apartment in which Coco Chanel lived in the '20s.
A bar snack menu ranges from charcuterie platters, cheeseboards and lobster club sandwiches to smoked haddock kedgeree, a Nicoise salad made with seared yellowfin tuna and a bavette steak tartare served with crispy bacon, quail egg, fries and a salad on the side.
The drinks list includes classic and signature cocktails alongside a wide range of premium spirits, including more than 60 whiskies from Scotland, Japan, Ireland and America. There are nine beers and ciders, as well as wines sourced mostly from France, Spain and Italy. Each of the seven champagnes is available by the glass.
