Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

When its issue began gushing forth in 2010, the Camden Town Brewery became the third biggest beer producer in London by volume, behind Fuller’s (No1) and Meantime (No2). Camden Town’s marketing is clever, the labels are smart – and the beer is fantastic. Its railway arch premises at Kentish Town West have already proved inadequate in size, and fermentation tanks have been moved outside the building: now, part of it has been fitted out to create the truest sort of brewery tap, one where the beer has only a few swaying paces to travel between production and consumption.

Camden Town brews six beers all year long (Hells lager, USA Hells lager, Unfiltered Hells, Pale Ale, Gentleman’s Wit, and Camden Ink). There are also a few more taps showcasing the brewery’s limited run brews.

Outside, street food is served up from the likes of Motherflipper, Oli Baba’s and Dosa Deli. The brewery has recently had a revamp with new murals and punchy signage added to the space, as well as extra tables and seating outside.

Camden Town Brewery Bar regularly host brewery tours, dining events and parties, so keep an eye on their website for the latest news. Kentish Town is not short of quality pubs, but the Brewery Bar is something new, a lo-fi link between brewer and drinker. The people pulling the pints are the same ones who brewed them – so it’s a great way to get closer to the source.

Sarnie Party

  • Food and drink events

Whether you’re a fan of mega sourdough sandwiches crammed with burrata and prosciutto or a lover of the classic jam between some budget white bread, pretty much everybody has their idea of a perfect sarnie. And here to slice up the sandwich scene this spring is Sarnie Party, a sumptuous celebration of all things between bread. It’s set to take over Camden Town Brewery Bar for a weekend in May, with 20 chefs creating 20 unique sarnies. London heavyweights like Doms Subs and Mondo Sando as well as UK kitchens like Picnic Margate and Big Deal Bodega are on the roster, and your ticket will get you three servings plus a Camden Town beer on entry. Yum.
