    The Bentley

    The Bentley Kempinski (as it's also known) might be a monument to excess, but they do make a good afternoon tea.

    The Capital
    A tiny but top-class hotel near Harrods. Staff are in a class of their own when it comes to attending to diners' whims.

    Claridge's
    Afternoon tea is served in the art deco Foyer or Reading Room, with 30 types of tea to choose from.

    The Connaught
    Served in the Connaught bar, next door to Angela Hartnett's restaurant.

    The Dorchester
    Served in 'The Promenade' – ie the corridor. One sitting during the week, two at weekends – booking essential.
