    • Artesian

      Langham Hotel, 1c Portland Place, W1B 1JA (7636 1000/ www.artesian-bar.co.uk)

The most glamorous rum bar in London, and not a grass skirt or drunken sailor in sight. The David Collins-designed interior is spectacular, and the dedication to rum is apparent through the 50-strong list. The cocktails are superb too. Read more

    • Cottons

      70 Exmouth Market, EC1R 4QP (7833 3332/www.cottons-restaurant.co.uk). Branch at 55 Chalk Farm Rd, NW1 8AN

A visit to this polished Farringdon restaurant-bar offers a taste of Caribbean history and the tradition of rum. The drinks list reaches far afield and is arguably London’s longest. The food is worth stopping by for too. Read more

    • Milk & Honey

      61 Poland St, W1F 7NU (7734 0700/www.mlkhny.com)

This perpetually dusky, discreet Soho speakeasy is not specifically a rum bar, but treats the spirit with as great a respect as it does all the others that line its well-stocked back-bar. Non-members can drink here with a reservation before 11pm at the beginning of the week – it’s well worth it to work your way through the range of expertly crafted classic cocktails. Read more

    • Trader Vic's

      London Hilton, 22 Park Lane, W1K 1BE (7208 4113/www.tradervicslondon.com)

Before rum became cool, this is what it was all about. Paper umbrellas, Polynesian carvings, lei garlands and palm trees set the scene; classic rum cocktails such as zombies, hurricanes and mai tais are served in novelty glassware to share. It’s brash, tacky and unashamedly great fun. Read more

    • Trailer Happiness

      177 Portobello Rd, W11 2DY (7727 2700/www.trailerhappiness.com)

This Notting Hill bar was one of the first in the capital to kickstart the tiki revival – and it’s still knowingly kitsch, thoroughly tongue-in-cheek and ironically retro. Cocktails are rigorously faithful to the original rum creations of legendary Californian bartenders.

Best Rum Bar in London by a country mile is BUENA VISTA Cafe - Landor Road, Clapham North Tube.
Fantastic rum served by the most intoxicatingly energtic and charismatic Barman/Proprietor you could ever hope to meet.
Be sure to check it out
