This cool little bar, just a couple of minutes' stagger from Wimbledon tube station, remains as popular as ever with a boisterous and undeniably youthful SW19 crowd. Behind the bar, smiley bartenders make a show of twirling glasses and shaking cocktails from an impressive list of over 100 varieties (potent mojitos and caipirinhas were proving popular on our recent visit). The surroundings are unpretentious and friendly, with smart decor of rich brown furniture and chocolate walls, a small terracotta-tiled bar and, at the rear, a snug area where comfy sofas gather around an open fire. A narrow passageway, covered in framed pics of revelry from evenings past, leads to the rear garden. The music has an indie retro feel - a refreshing change from bog- standard dance.
