Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes
Do you like sleek cocktails, flashy bartending, celebrity-spotting? Get thee to nearby bowling rival All Star Lanes. But if you prefer a pint while you bowl, the freedom to spill it on worn carpeting, and a joystick-jiggle on retro arcade games such as Galactica, this is your venue. With low-key decor, booths in the restaurant (burgers for £6.75) and swivel stools dotted around, this is a more authentic representation of Americana. Cocktails adhere to the theme; the list includes a white russian (£3.50), linked to bowling forever more thanks to The Big Lebowski. The beer selection features Bitburger, Bernard and the Meantime Brewery’s Kölsch on tap, plus a further 15 by the bottle. Two karaoke rooms have been added in the last year, and films are occasionally screened in the sloping entrance hall.

The most unique venue in London. Bowling might be a bit of a fad in London at the moment but you get the feeling bloomsbury bowl will survive the long term. Great bar with excellent draft bitburger for £2.80, nice diner and relaxed atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow as it is very busy.... [More]
