London's best review, food and drink news
This great Young's pub has been putting on live music since the early 1960s - as pictures of the great, the good and the hirsute of folk, blues and rock (the Rolling Stones, Dr John, U2) that cover the walls testify - but a recent refurb has touched up the sepia-stained ceiling and cream-and-terracotta walls. Although better known bands sell out well in advance, the intimate, 200-capacity music room was only half full on a recent visit. The gig clientele is swelled by a core of locals who drop in for just a drink and maybe a game of pool. Food can be ordered in from a local Lebanese restaurant.
